LEAD ENGINEER, H/FBELGIUM

We are looking for a LEAD ENGINEER to oversee a major marine infrastructure project in Belgium.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and coordinate the engineering of a major marine infrastructure project.
• Serve as the key contact between the client, internal team, and external partners (JV partners, contractors, design consultancies, etc.).
• Oversee project planning, design (concept to detailed), budgeting, and execution, ensuring quality, timelines, and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Conduct structural analysis and dimensioning of port infrastructure (quay walls, locks, jetties, dikes, breakwaters, etc.) following Belgian and European standards.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across water infrastructure, roads, mobility, and spatial design.
• Ensure project compliance with internal quality systems and HSE regulations.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and innovation within the team.

PROFILE

• Master's degree in Structural, Marine, or Offshore Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in marine infrastructure design.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Strong knowledge of design codes (EC2, EC7, NEN, EAU, etc.) and structural-soil interaction.
• Proficient in design tools such as SCIA Engineer, Plaxis, GeoStudio, or Dsheet.
• Experience in 3D reinforced concrete design and project management for public sector projects.
• Skilled in budgeting, financial reporting, and contract management.
• Familiar with competitive bidding processes.
• Willing to travel for short or medium-term missions.
• Valid driving license (international or "B").
