APPLY FOR THIS JOBWe are currently in need of a QA/QC Inpsector for an ongoing project located in East Pittsburgh, USA.
MISSION:
As part of the QA/QC team, your role will be pivotal in ensuring suppliers deliver and install their products to the highest quality standards, ensuring nuclear safety at all times. This involves:
- Quality control and monitoring of fabrication activities by the Contractor and occasionally by their sub-vendors.
- Oversight of fabrication progress.
- Witnessing predefined quality control checks in the Contractor's inspection and test plan.
- Signing off on witnessed operations in the inspection and test plan.
- Reviewing fabrication reports issued by the Contractor.
- Weekly reporting on quality and progress to our project management team and quality control leader.
- Immediately reporting any significant quality and progress deviations to the project management teams and quality control leader.
- Collaborating with the Contractor in an open and constructive manner.
PROFILE:
- Autonomous in quality control of mechanical equipment for the nuclear sector.
- Experience in quality control of pressure vessels or equivalent mechanical components.
- Familiarity with industrial processes involved in manufacturing heavy steel vessels.
- Knowledge of non-destructive examination techniques, with certification being advantageous.
- Experience in pressure testing and leak tightness testing.
- Ability to work in industrial environments with tight deadlines and high-quality requirements.
- Mechanical Engineer or equivalent with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in English.
- Able to work independently according to predefined methodologies.
- Capable of drafting concise reports with factual conclusions.
- Reliable, motivated, and able to meet deadlines.
- Flexible to work in shifts and on weekends.
- Possesses pragmatic and diplomatic communication skills, with the ability to handle stress.
